"From Bride to Birth"...

Post by Sandis Doll House »

I was commissioned to make two Christening gowns from the grandmothers bridal dress. I have NEVER worked with so much lace and sequins in all my life. It was different than anything I am used to but I think they turned out beautiful...not that I tooting my own horn, but I just couldn't imagine a Christening gown from a 1980's dress. At first she didn't want a bonnet but since seeing the proof pictures she has changed her mind. I also made the Christening slip from the lining and a diaper cover to match. Little Anna Kate will be wearing a tiny bracelet made from the beading on the dress.I'll add those as soon as I am finished. So I present to you, "From Bride to Birth".

Wow. Who knew an 80's gown could work up into such a beautiful christening dress. I'd say you have magic in your fingers and sewing machine.
