Question about earrings...
For those of you that do pierced ears on your reborns....
What type of earring do you buy so that the vinyl doesn't discolor years down the road-like the old Barbies did?
The lady who is the winning bidder on my AA Presley would like her to have pierced ears if she wins. I want to go find a good pair of earrings before the end of the auction in case she wins, and if she doesn't, then I have a pair for future use.
Do you use sterling, hypo-allergenic or stainless steel? What is my best bet?
Thanks for any information you are willing to share!

Re: Question about earrings...
Sue, I always use the piercing studs that can be purchased at Sally's beauty supply. I've been told that they will not cause damage.

Re: Question about earrings...
I like silver so I normally use the platinum posts from Michaels or anyplace that sells jewelry making materials. They are not earrings I can't think of what they are called, they are about an inch long and I have to cute them off. They have a nice little ball (more baby appropriate size). I have also seen them in gold and silver.

Re: Question about earrings...
I always used 14K baby earrings when I did use them.
Blessings!

I'd think silver would tarnish?

Re: Question about earrings...
I always just use the hypo allergenic earrings. They do not have nickel in them that would discolor vinyl. Silver will tarnish eventually so will also discolor after a while.

I also use the piercing earrings from Sally's! I have a couple keepers with them, and no problems yet!

Re: Question about earrings...
My Shu Ning has on hypoallergenic nickel free posts since when I got her in 2007. Her ears are perfect. I changed the posts recently and aside from the hole there is no other trace.

Re: Question about earrings...
Thank you all so much! We live in a very rural area and I would have to drive over an hour to Sally's so I will probably try the hypoallergenic nickle free ones as you can get those almost anywhere. No Sally's but plenty of tattoo parlors that do piercings (hee, hee)!
