I did it!
I tried a rooted eyebrow today (on an unpainted "practice head" of course)! What do you think? I think it should have more stray hairs and maybe a bit bushier. I was going to give it a try on the Frida toddler I am now working on.
Next I am going to paint the brow and then root over it to see if I like it better.
It seems pretty easy to do but I don't know about matching it for the other side-LOL!
Also not sure what I want to use to keep the brow in place. Anyone who does brows regularly want to comment? Is it better to use the genesis varnish and bake (if so do you use satin or matte?), or is it better to use the air dry stuff?

Re: I did it!
I try to avoid eyebrows if I can~~~I don't even attempt rooted eyelashes, so this would be way out of my league. Yours look good and I think rooting them over slightly painted ones would give you the look you want~~~~good job~~~

It looks good so far!!!!! Can't wait to see it on one of your babies. And yes I agree that painting and rooting is a good idea!!

Looks great Sue. Hint about the other side. Just turn the head upside down and do the same thing.
Oh, Happy birthday too!
Hope it is a good one.
Hugs,

Great job...why are they on a white background?
I'd try with and without painting the brows...that looks great.

I did the rooting on an old "test head" that has never been painted-LOL!

Re: I did it!
Thank you all so much! I did another test where I painted the brows first and then rooted and I actually like that one better. Then I used the Liquitex Matte Gel to hold them in place. Seems to be working great.
I will do this with the Frida I am working on right now.
Someone told me to use the Genesis Thick medium extender. That requires baking so would have to be done before rooting her hair. I wonder if the brows would survive all the rubbing during rooting?

Re: I did it!
I would do the eyebrows last, because being just one small spot on the head they might indeed rub off or get ruined if you do them before rooting. Did you use human hair? I tried a couple of times but with mohair.

Re: I did it!
I used mohair Elisabetta. I should take pictures of the second one I did with painting them first and then rooting. I honestly like them better but I can't really see the painted brows at all.

Can't wait to see it!!! I too think that some painted eyebrow underneath gives more depth...Suebee_Lullaby Lane wrote:I used mohair Elisabetta.
