This site was pretty much started for my wife who has an enthusiasm for doll collecting(particularly Lee Middleton Dolls)and the many great people she has come in contact with over the course of her "hunting" on the net. It is somewhat fair to say that it's origional design was that of a "free" BBS where doll collectors of all types could partake in unhindered conversations about their doll passion; there was a problem on a commercially owned BBS which fairly enough did and does not allow some topics, particularly those where collectors were searching for deals that the commercial site owners felt undercut their own dealers out of the picture. So, this was meant as an altertative forum.
The Forums here not only allow a way for individuals to share their doll enthusiasm by trading comments but with patience and practice for the casual internet user pictures can be posted as well. Additionally, in response to our users request, forums designed for classified postings as well as a "feedback" system exists in order to help members sell their wares or seek the hard to find.
Dollfan is a continuing evolution and hopefully provides a good way for people to communicate their interests. It has over time gone from being a completely free BBS to one of minimal cost to the user....this is done not only to defray costs associated with running a board but is as well designed to limit the 'casual' user from disrupting those more intent on staying focused with the topic ;) Any suggestions or ideas for improvement are always welcome and encouraged.
I have attempted to make this site viewable and useable by all internet users so please, if you come across a problem, please let me know. Thanks all for your support and hope you enjoy.
