Jasmine goes to grandma's question

Post by krystleslittlemonkeys »

Has anyone Reborned this AD doll? I'm really getting tired if her hair, red lips and cloth arms. I have no fun dressing her since she can't wear long sleeves. I've been considering selling her but figured her resale price wouldn't be much. So I've wondered if she is possible to reborn? Like if other arms could be found that are full or 3/4 length. Is the AD vinyl painted brown or is the vinyl itself brown? I have no experience painting ethnic babies let alone AD dolls so would want to find someone to do it if possible.

If anyone had pics if one Reborned I'd love to see.

And in another note, if it can't be done dies anyone know what the average resale price is of this doll?

I would think she would be just brown vinyl with blushing. We all know that AD isnt known for really going the extra mile in creating realistic babies. They rather do the least possible they can do. I hope you can fix her the way you like her. I am really picky with things and when something bothers me, I cant just let it sit either.

After seeing so many beautifully done AA babies at DEDS I just can't seem to look at my jasmine the same. I love her face but the details are so lacking and her lips look like red lip stick!! And I hate not bring able to dress her in long sleeves.

Which jasmine is that? The toddler? Or the baby?
The toddler would make a beautiful reborn!

I have a Jasmine in my album for sale and I also have one that I am keeping for me. I took the red off my Jasmines lips and left them without added color. I think she looks 100% better without the lip color.

Krystle, I have full AA vinyl limbs. You're welcome to them, but since they are by Berenguer I don't know how closely the colour matches AD vinyl. Still, closer than Caucasian vinyl I would think.

I posted her here: http://www.doll-fan.com/viewtopic.php?f ... =Alzheimer. I stripped her completely, repainted her, put in new eyes and gave her painted hair with a rooted piggy tail on top and took her to an Alzheimer's patient where she is being loved. I kept her 1/4 limbs because they are softer for an older person to hug. It did take quite a bit of time for the vinyl to air out and get rid of the plastic-y smell, but I think she came out darling.

I reborned one many years ago......she came out cute as a button and so much nicer then the original.
I only have one pic as I lost most of my pics due to a corrupted disk :(

I would try to just take off her red lips and see if that makes you like her more. :D

I saw that one too Heather. Very nice painting. Not crazy about the hair but the painting is fab. I changed her into a new outfit tonight and fixed up her hair. It still drives me nuts that she can't wear long sleeves but I may be able to overlook that if she had a nice new paint job.

Really? What size was that doll? If she is the same size as Jasmine goes to Grandma's that just might work.

I found some on ebay...same size it seems but are you sure she has 3/4 arms? Every one I find is wearing long sleeves like the other Jasmine's which makes it seem like she has 1/4
