Adelaide

Post by Joy-n-KY » Wed Sep 12, 2018 7:39 pm

I had my Adelaide painted by my favorite reborn artist...she’s beautiful. My problem is with this ridiculous body. It seems like it’s for 3/4 length legs and it’s so wide! My baby has a big butt! When I preordered her I added the body to the order, there was nothing about needing an armature. I don’t even need or want her to stand...in my opinion the kit is way too small to be a standing or tiptoeing kit anyway. I need a body that will look okay with the limbs, to make her a newborn size kit. This body makes her a 3 month size. Her head looks too small for this size of body. Can anyone tell me which body will work?

I have thought the very same thing looking at all the pictures of her!! I'd actually like to see her with curvy arms and legs & have wondered myself what other body AND limbs might work. I do think if you used a body that has what I call "swing legs" - I don't know quite how to explain it - but a body where there is some cloth on the top of the leg that is NOT jointed but just hangs down then attached her legs to that at least her legs would be closer together & I think that would look better. That would definitely make her legs more like 3/4 instead of full though & I don't know of anyone who makes a body like that. She has a very sweet baby look to her face with that cute painted hair & because of her head size I think she'd look really wonderful with different body & limbs!

I agree, she may need different limbs as well as a body. Thanks for the reply :foryou:

You're welcome! When you figure something out let me know although I didn't buy a kit and probably couldn't find one now but I do love that face! Yours really is sweet!

Jackie do you mean " front Loading legs" they are not jointed they leg the leg hang, they are really nice to hold and cuddle well too I have made a few dolls with front loading legs and you can buy bodies here in the UK like that.

No-not front loading legs - just ones with more cloth at the top so the legs sort of swing which would make her legs 3/4 instead of full. Of course then when dressing her you would have to cover up the cloth part. Here is a drawing (not the best :) ) of what I'm talking about. The vinyl leg would attach to the cloth part of the leg with cable ties and the legs would be floppy so she wouldn't stand unless you stuffed the cloth part of the leg really, really firmly. For me personally I would prefer her with different limbs and body altogether.

I agree Kathy. The sculpt is wonderful.

I emailed Andrea, have a body on the way now. Hoping it looks better than this one.

I found this picture on Google of the kind of body I'm talking about - apparently it is available for her from MacPherson's. Hope this link works. :)

Here’s the new body. I didn’t add any weighting material, she isn’t heavy but she can sit now. I still feel the limbs are just too large for the head, but I do like this body more than the first.

Hmmm- yes - better - but I still feel her legs are too far apart and I agree about the limbs not being the right size for the head. I sure wish someone would pair the head with different limbs - I would love to see what it would look like.
