I miss seeing all the ooaks too. They were always my favorite. I have one Eva Helland ooak left that I will be selling as we are moving and downsizing.
Totally agree with all of you. Those were such good ol' days. The forum use to have several pages of new post at any given time. I miss so many of the ladies from back then.
I totally agree with you all! so sad. There are hardly any posts in the For Sale sections for any of the dolls. Are we are fading generation? I remember so many of us ladies on this forum, lots of posts every day and tons of great dolls for sale. it's so sad.
I, too am nostalgic about the collectors and collections of the past- as I still turn to this forum as my online doll happy place and I enjoy the small collection of ooaks that I was fortunate to obtain. What I miss most is the frequent sharing of stories, photos and information about their wonderful hobby- this is my most trusted source.
The visual kaleidoscope of babies on Facebook and Instagram is mesmerizing and can lure us in- but sharing our knowledge and love of the art seems to have a more genuine, personal feel here on DF which is an appeal that always draws me back. Dolls and our experiences as collectors is not overshadowed by other distractions or opinions of unrelated topics- itās just about the love we share of dolls... thank you, Amy for the reminder and thanks to everyone for contributing to this lovely space!
I will make a point of taking pictures of my ooaks to share here soon.
Yes!!! DollFan is still my most trusted forum and source for sharing All Things Dolly, but I do miss seeing all the Postings full of lots of lovely Dolls to buy, sell, or trade
I've been gone for awhile. Gee, I came back today and the halls are almost empty! Did most doll ladies go to Facebook? Most doll groups over there sound alike. Hard to find anyone.
