where did you go?
After 10 years of being on doll-fan I finally cancelled my membership. I suppose I won't be able to log in soon~ Even at just 24.00 a year it is hard to pay for a forum with no activity. Things change and I know nothing lasts forever but it sure was fun when this place was busy and full of new posts, I would enjoy my morning coffee and read and respond to so many posts! I loved that it was categorized by sales and sharing our personal collections...I never fully migrated to be a part of another doll community forum after this one died and I feel it has left me a little lost and in between as an artist/collector. All that to say... where did you go? I am looking for suggestions on where I should hop over to? What groups on facebook or what forum did you join that you really like? I am in some facebook groups but havent full connected to any of them on a personal level like I did here so far.

I'm still here although don't post a lot. I am on FaceBook, but not for dolls, just personal. Look at FB doll groups that have different ones for sale, but not active on them. Always liked it here and wish it could be like it used to be, busy all the time.

Re: where did you go?
I am on several doll Facebook groups, Himstedts, BJDs, Buying & Selling groups and etc., but despite the effort of the administrators, scammers are on them too, so buying or selling a doll is risky. I now sell on reborns.com and haven't been buying anything lately.
A Facebook group called Joys of Doll Collecting and one called Doll-Fan!! are probably the most interesting because they share pictures of their dolls, but there is not a lot of interaction, and as always, there is criticism if someone has a different opinion on anything.
So I don't post much.
Good luck!

Re: where did you go?
I too miss what this forum once was and now it seems like a ghost town. I still have SO MANY baby dolls I want and need to sell but I figure it’s futile here. I also went mainly to Facebook groups but it’s not the same. People just don’t interact personally like we all did here and as it’s been said, you must be careful if you’re buying or selling. I’m only doing BJD’s now and those groups do seem to be a bit more personal than some. Best of luck finding your new niche. I too will make this my last year here but I don’t think mine runs out for quite awhile.
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!
Cheers, Erin

Re: where did you go?
I’m just checking in. I’m paid through May because I keep forgetting to cancel!
I do belong to several doll groups on FB, doll-fan being one of them. It’s different, although several old Doll-fan members are there. That intimate feeling is gone. There are few real conversations. Mostly just selling. It makes me very sad!
I feel like dolly world has changed, too. I am still making babies and I’m on Reborns.com. Few people remember me and newer members of the FB groups treat me like a possible scammer. That makes me sad too! I had lots of good friends here on DF back in the day!
Although I would love to see Doll-fan come back, I really don’t see that happening. FB has taken over because the technology here has not kept up, mainly with the ease of posting pictures.
Anyway, I miss you all! I guess I’ll be checking in until May 2024!

Re: where did you go?
I have just recently signed back up here. I have been on Facebook and have Instagram also. I miss the forum set up with sections and topics. Also, the less broad intertaction. I am alright with social media, great for wider audience showing work/selling work, but this always felt like a doll community hangout.
