:D I am on Facebook now, but I don't like it and rarely go there. It's too scattered for me. I DO love DF and usually stop by every day at some point. It seems like there are very few new posts in General Dolly Discussions these days. Three of of my posts from September 2019 and April 2020 are still listed in "Recent Topics"! Obviously, they are not recent, but there is such a small amount of content that they are still there. That's pretty sad. I remember a time when there were so many posts that they were often on page 2 before you had a chance to read them. It made things exciting and interesting. I know that the site changes and the move to Facebook by many has decimated Doll Fan. I consider Doll Fan to be a very special place, and if we don't support it, it's going to disappear. That would be very sad. I love to see all of the new babies, older babies, new outfits, collections, etc., that members share. The medium of the doll doesn't matter. I love to see everything. We all need to post more and try harder. Don't be shy, just jump in!! It always seems to be the same few ladies that post. Some of you are great at posting and I thank you for that. You are the stars that have kept things going and brightened our days. I have a few new-to-me babies that I will try to post soon. Right now all of my dolls are wrapped up like mummies in case a fire comes our way, but I will take photos as soon as the danger passes. I hope that others will start posting, too.

I also would like to see posts and ads stay up longer than they do now. I like to go back and see things a second, third or more times if I love it. JMHO.

I am feeling the same, thinking of cancelling my membership as well. Many of our members have passed away and the others rarely come on here anymore, very sad for me as I have been a member for a long long time!

No need to cancel your membership -- Steve and we need to work to make it a site we want to be involved with and post. We have liked this site in the past and still can but it has to be useful to us. I do not belong to Facebook --- and don't plan to since I view it as unsafe. Ruth

I am glad you are addressing this, Ruth- as a reminder that it takes our input to keep this lovely forum active and interesting; in addition to monitoring the activity to make sure that it is working properly and we can understand how to best navigate (it does get discouraging when posts are difficult to add or find).
I am guilty of the FB distraction, but I have always preferred the atmosphere here, and my comfort in selling and posting is always on this forum.
I will make more of an effort to contribute more here to encourage others to follow suit- this is a special place that we don’t want to lose.

I would love to be able to post new photos, but I can't. Sometimes I have the desire to post old photos that I have on Photobucket because they are of beautiful classic babies that I know some people will be happy to see, but I feel discouraged when I do not understand the reason why my posts for sale are deleted over and over. once, after a few weeks. I would understand if the forum had a lot of activity, with pages and pages of new babies for sale, but at the moment in the ooaks section there are only 4 posts to sell. So what's wrong with unsold babies still being advertised here? That takes me away the illusion to participate.

I totally agree MariaJose and Zu. It is hardly worth the effort to take pictures and post in the for sale section only to have the posts deleted after a few days. There was a time when we could go back several weeks later to reevaluate if we could adopt a certain baby. Now if you don't decide immediately you lose your chance. :(
Wishing you a blessed day.

Thanks Pat. I'm not sure who the moderator in DF is, but if this person reads this I would beg to you, please, if you can talk to Steve about this because it hurts everyone.

A moment ago I tried to find in the "members" section a person that I haven't seen for a long time. the result has been that the profile of that person cannot be found. I have been testing and the same happens with a large number of other members. I wonder why the names of so many members who are no longer here aren´t eliminated, but the posts of those who are here and want to stay are.
I apologize if I disturb someone, but I think that if the owner of the forum has an interest in keeping it, it would be good to make some adjustments in the forum.

I guess 'being on fb' dooesn't mean scrolling through private walls of your friends family and their friends&family. These are the places where you can find politics, stupid chains and covid stuff. DF friends are in discussion groups. Because threre are very few of members who did not enter FB groups and still uses forum on regular basis...
😁 Coming back after account removal. Hello again!

Any initiative will be good, but to keep the forum interesting, entertaining and active there are some absolutely essential points:

A: All of us who want a nice dolls forum and a safe place to buy and sell, we must make an extra and constant effort to publish topics and put photos of our babies (even if they are photos already published years ago)

B: All of us who want the forum not to decline must make an extra and constant effort to leave pleasant comments on the photos and topics posted by others.
"I'm busy or I'll write something later" doesn't work. If people don't get comments, they think their dolls aren't interesting or appreciated and maybe they don't bother to post more.

C: The forum was wonderful in the golden years, and there were wonderful friends who unfortunately have already passed away. Or they don't come here anymore. We must keep those happy days in the memory, but TODAY's forum must be founded and grow in the PRESENT, with the members (old or new) who are here and now and who want to commit to keeping the forum alive.

I apologize if I offend someone for my mistakes in expressing myself. English is not my language.
I also apologize if any of my ideas displease anyone, but the forum has suffered a big downfall for three main reasons:

1: The problem with Photobucket has removed almost all the photos that were in the old themes.
I usually look at old topic pages and EVERYTHING is empty, without photos, and most of the members are gone. Those old pages only serve to give a feeling of "off or dead"
Humbly, for me it is a mistake to keep them because it looks like a ghost forum.
Here is a famous topic about the wonderful Eva Helland that our partner Ruth created years ago and that we all like a lot, but almost everything in that topic is empty of photos and is disheartening. Dear Ruth, would it be possible to create a NEW Eva Helland theme where we contribute all our photos, and CURRENT comments?
It would be nice to do the same with each of the dolls artists, a theme for each of them where we join our old and new photos and enjoy them.
If we don't know how to publish pics, let's make an effort to learn. Let us ask for help from sons and daugther, the grandchildren, the friends here.
I'm already doing that. The forum without photos does not work.

2: many people don't feel comfortable because their friends are gone. Could each of us try to bring back one or two of our friends who are not already participating? This is not easy, but it is still worth a try.
This is easier: let us be even more friends who are here and now and want to stay. I know there is a "show your mugs" topic full of current or missing members. But forgive my insistence, the future is in the present. Perhaps a current topic could be opened? for example with this title: DOLL FAN 2021: this is me, my dolls, my family, my animals. And I want to stay aqui. Perhaps those of us who don´t want the forum to disappear would feel more united.

3 and last: The lack of money that most of us suffer to a greater or lesser degree and that makes it difficult to get new dolls should not make us lose our illusion. If we can't have new dolls, we can have new dresses for our dear old dolls and fall in love with them again.
From my heart, I promise to increase my participation because I want the forum to be great again.

Just an add.......if you don’t feel comfortable “posting your Mug” in the General forum, we can start a new thread in “Off Topic” where only members can see them. 😉❤️ Re-introduce yourselves and your babies, old and new. 😊
