black strip on top of page question

Post by bean »

There is a strip on top of the page that has Profile, Pages, Groups Events and so on
But on the black strip on the right hand corner looking at it ... there is Two people, than an Envelope, and a Bell ..mine as a 1 at each one of those ..and when I try to see what is them ..it doesn't give me a choice to open them :dunno:
Can someone tell me what that is about please ?
Thank you so much,
Bean

Bean, I don’t know if this will help but you might try signing out of the forum and then back in.
Mine is working so yours should also.
Wishing you a blessed day.

The 2 people are friends requests, the envelope are conversations, and the bell is notifications. They are opening up for me, but I did have to sign back in this morning which could explain why.

As suggested, logging out and then back in again should allow you to select either of the notifications in that black bar... if it doesn't, can you please let me know which browser you are using and whether it is on a mobile device or desktop/laptop? For a bit of insight, when logged in, there are actually two systems being logged into at the same time, (one being the forum and the other the whole site), where it is possible to be out of sync. On a side note, I have thought about revamping the whole thing anyway, and getting rid of the "Community" part which is tied to that black bar. There is a lot of redundant things going on, like friend requests, which have already been done by the forum.

Hello Steve, Yes I logged out and back in it did not clear it. I am using Safari as a browser on a Mac Mini computer. Hope this helps.
Thanks Bean

Thanks bean,
I have the ability to test the website on many different types of computers and browsers and am not running into what you describe. Just to make sure I am testing the right environment, what version of Safari are you using as well as the MacOS version? You can clear the Safari cache as well to check if there isn't an old/cached file that Safari is holding onto that might be interfering with it.
